Obituary

Edward Everett Davis was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma from the union of Johnnie DAvis, Sr., and Viola [Gates] Davis.

He graduated from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1942 and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of First Sargent and discharged in 1946.

In the early 1950's, he relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he worked for McDonnell Douglas [Boeing] Aircraft in Long Beach, California before his retirement in 1988.

Mr. Davis leaves to mourn his passing; his wife of 40 years, Clairetha; a sister, Barbara Grey [Raymond], Okmulgee, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Juanita Davis, Kansas City, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Sylvester Griffis, Wichita Falls, Texas, Raymond Griffis [Janet], Missouri City, Texas, James Griffis [Alta], Norman, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Joyce Griffis, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joann Napoleon, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Glorise Fay Edwards [Lorenzo], Lima, Oklahoma, Mary Ellen Solomon, El Reno, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Service of Remembrance will be on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church-Central of Okmulgee. Reverend P. W. Jackson, Sr., the Pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery.
