Obituary

Edward Emanuel Hill, Jr., the son of Edward E. and Mary Margaret [Minter] Hill, Sr., arrived on Monday, September 19, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the second of four children in this family.

Edward grew up and attended school in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated from Southwest High School. He then matriculated to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, before ultimately enlisting with the United States Air Force on April 11, 1986 and serving his country honorable for 30 years.

It was while he was attending Oklahoma State where he met a young lady from Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Thomasine A. Anderson and was smitten by the love of his life. They fell in love, he asked and she accepted, which led to 27 years of Holy Matrimony since January 18, 1992. Together, they raised two sons, Keynan Diggs and Dalen Hill.

During his service in the Air Force, Edward provided for his family through his employment as an Optometry Technician and later, continued the same position with the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Hill was a member of Fruit of the Spirit Ministries Church, where he served the Lord faithfully as an Ordained Deacon;  he labored diligently beside his Pastor to serve the needs of the Church and the surrounding community. Edward loved spending time with his family and friends, cooking and watching sports; cheering on his favorite teams, the Atlanta Falcons, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Braves. He looked forward to returning to Atlanta when he could attend the Falcons games with his father, a devoted Falcons season ticket holder.
