"Life Is But A Stopping Place"
One special day in little town called Redbird, Ok, Eugene and Ethel Sharp welcomed a handsome son on March 8, 1936 and decided to name him Edward Leon Sharp. He was raised with his siblings Mildred, Lois, Harold, Idella and Yvonne. As a teenager he went to stay with his sister Mildred in Dallas, Tx.
Edward graduated from Redbird High School. After graduating, he was smitten by a young ladies beauty by the name of Doretha Robinson, and they got married the month of September in 1955. He shared a lifetime with his bride they were inseparable. In the early part of their marriage he served in the Navy in Almeda, Ca from 1955 to 1959. He knew with a family he would need a better paying job. That is when he decided to get get his degree in Accounting. The colleges he attended were Bacone College in Muskogee, Ok and Northeastern State in Tahlequah. He took his accounting degree and worked at City Hall in Tulsa, Ok for over 30 years and he retired at that job.
Edward and Doretha had seven beautiful children, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, what an amazing legacy. Edward was affectionately called Papa or Papa Red by his grandchildren.
When he wasn't spending time with family he loved to fish, watch sports, but his true love was ministering as an elder for the Jehovah Witnesses. He had such a strong commitment to ministry he would travel to Taft, Ok to the prison and minister to the men there. He would do so until his health would no allow him to do so.
Proceeding him in death: His (parents) Eugene and Ethel Sharp (siblings) Mildred Smith, Lois Margie Sharp, Harold Sharp, Idella Mae Brown, Yvonne Sharp. (Wife) Doretha Sharp (son) Vincent sharp.
Left to cherish his memory (daughters) Terra Carnahan and Angela Syas (sons) Edward Sharp Jr., Marcus Sharp, Wendall Sharp and John Sharp; Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren with a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Mr. Edward Sharp, age 85 and a Muskogee resident, fell asleep in Death on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in Sherman, Texas.
A Graveside ceremony will be shared on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Red Bird Cemetery, Red Bird, Oklahoma. Brother Roy Jones will officiate.
You may visit Mr. Sharp on Friday, July 16, 2021 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee. Additionally, on Saturday from 11:30 AM until 1:15 PM. The casket will not be opened at the Cemetery.
The Funeral Procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 PM.
