Obituary

On February 25, 1920, in Marland, Oklahoma, a baby girl was born to Amos and Stella [Epperson] Brown. They lovingly named her Ella Mae. Ella was the second of thirteen children. She was raised in Marland and the family later moved to Wetumka, Oklahoma.

In 1943, she met and married Alonzo Loggins and from this union, four children were born. The marriage was later dissolved. She and her family then moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1947, where she met and married Jeff Johns, Sr. From this union, seven children were born.

Ella Mae joined Macedonia Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Tommy McFrazier. She later moved her membership to Greater Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lee D. Moore, where she remained faithful until her health began to fail. Ella was a faithful member of the Junior Women and Senior Women Mission Cricle and a faithful member of the Usher Board.

She was very active in the church with her children and made sure that her children were just as active in the church as she was. She was dedicated to being a mother and grandmother. She worked outside the home, caring for other people and never met a stranger. She took pride in her favorite hobby, growing plants and doing yard work.
