IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elliott
Shine
April 17, 1939 – February 26, 2020
Deacon Elliott Shine, after "Four Score Years" with us, transitioned to "Church Triumphant" on Wednesday morning, from his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Elliott Shine was born on April 17, 1939 in the small community of Cathey, Oklahoma, just north of Eufaula, Oklahoma. He was the 9th child of Charley Shine, Jr., and Carrie Elizabeth [Spencer] Shine.
He attended school at Oktaha, Manual Training High School and Rentiesville School, where he became an outstanding basketball player. He worked for Dubois School in Summit, Oklahoma and J. C. Penneys department store, where he was manager of the shoe department.
Deacon Shine grew up in a close knit family and is loved by all of his family. The best part of his life is when he gave his life to Christ and decided to follow Jesus! The Deacon Shine you know today has been saved by grace and loved the Lord!
Those that wait on the Lord: his devoted wife, Deronda, of the home in Muskogee, Oklahoma; his children, Relford, Belinda, Melinda and Kenric; along with a caravan of other relatives, Old Agency Baptist Church family and many, many friends.
His Tributes will commence on Saturday morning, March 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the most Holy sanctuary of Harvest Ministries Church. Pastor Lester Beasley is the gracious host, and Reverend A. H. Jones, Senior Pastor of Old Agency Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Cathey Cemetery in McIntosh County, Oklahoma.
You may visit Deacon Shine, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
