Obituary

Elsie Louise Thomas was born on March 2, 1921 in Celeste, Texas, the daughter of Austin and Carrie Woosley. The family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma when she was at a young age. Elsie attended the Muskogee School System and graduated from Manual Training High School.

In December of 1942, she married Claude W. Thomas and the family grew with four children.

She served the Lord faithfully. She was a soloist in the First Baptist Church Choir for many years and served with the Misson. She was a person that loved helping people and was very active in the church until ill health forced her to slow down.

After Eighty-five seasons, Elsie Louise Thomas crossed into Eternity on Sunday morning, May 28, 2006 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Claude W. Thomas.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Claude Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Grace Edwards, East Palo Alto, California, Patricia Thomas, of the home in Muskogee and Renee Thomas, also of the home in Muskogee; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Walton of San Francisco, California; along with other relatives and friends.

The Tribute will be on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Michael McDaniel will officiate. Burial will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit Mrs. Thomas on Friday from 12 Noon until 6 PM at the funeral home in Muskogee.
