On March 2, 2020 early Monday morning, Elthemia (Thurmen) Parks AKA Rabbit slipped off his chains of earthly bondage. Reared and raised in Plumerville Arkansas area, Thurmen was the eldest child of Maco and Augusta (Levels) Parks. He lived most of his adult life in the Kansas and Oklahoma areas. He accepted Christ at an early age, and rededicated his life to Christ before any declining in his health. With the weeping of his sincerity in sinners prayer of forgiveness and salvation, his soul was anchored and name written in the lamb's book of life. Those who knew him well have all heard his favorite quote from the bible "if the Lord is willing", never taking for granted the promise of another day.

He worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years and for the railroad for 55 years, if not longer. He left a legacy of impeccable work ethics enriched with lifelong friendships. Thurmen had a passion for motorcycles. He was truly a Harley Davidson man. He was a quiet man who loved to listen to the blues and gardening in his spare time. He was gifted in growing some of the largest tomatoes and yielding massive crops. He was proud of the military service of his 5 sons who honorably served their country: James-Army, Kurt-Army, Larry-Ret. Army, Alfie-Marines, Markus-Marines.

Proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: William Eugene Parks & Maco Parks Jr., 2 Sisters: Thelma Vernon & Margaret Gray , One daughter: Jeanetta Manuel. Leaving his memory with 2 siblings: Bernice Sipp and Charles Parks and two sets of children. From the union of Katie Jackson: daughters- Jennie (Pastor Aggison), Mary, Anice (Harold Clay), Eunice, Janice (Rev. Joseph), Chuckola, Barbara and Jance. Sons- William Lee Otis, Joseph, and Walter. From the Union of Ardell (Kelley) Parks: James, Lelannie, Kurt, Larry (Leslie), Alfie (Lois), Markus (Claudia), and Linda Lyons (David).
