IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elverez Garland
Allen
March 6, 1954 – November 10, 2016
Elverez G. Allen I, was born on March 6, 1954 the third child born to Elroy and Ruth (Collier) Allen in Oklahoma City, OK. Elverez attended the Tulsa Public school system and graduated from McLain Sr. High School. After graduation he attended KU and pledged to his beloved Fraternity, Line 4 of Delta Delta Chapter (The Terrible Three) of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Elverez completed his undergraduate education at Yankton, South Dakota and continued his education to earn a Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix.
Elverez gave his life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Varick Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. He was Pastor of Calvary Christian Center for a season and later became a devoted member of Covenant Family Church where he faithfully served until his health prevented his attendance. Elverez was a very talented musician who loved to sing praises to the Lord and he was an avid Coordinator of the Jazz Festival. He served as Minister of music to several choirs, including the Allen Family choir. He met and married CC Allen, whom he dearly loves. CC was continuously by his side providing unconditional love and support.
A few accomplishments were: a Pastor, financial advisor at Sunoco, Track & Field Coach for the North Tulsa Striders, a Professor at UOP, served on the Board of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, an entrepreneur and business owner, a great musician, a Handy Man, and as the only brother in town, he was the pillar of the earth for his Mother and five of his sisters, as well as others he helped. With all of that, he still had the desire to serve his community and was a candidate for House District 72 with the campaign commitment of "Advocating Positive Change".
