Mr. Emerson Penn Jr., in his 73rd year, received his rest on Thursday evening, November 20, 2025, from Tulsa, Oklahoma. On December 7, 1951, a beautiful baby boy was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Emerson Penn Sr. and Isabell (Petite) Penn. They named him Emerson Junior.
Emerson Jr., also known as "T-Bone," grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Remington and Clinton Jr. High schools and graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1970.
He had worked at several jobs, loved doing concrete work, and had attended to yard jobs with his Uncle, L. C. Pettie, in the past. His last job was custodian at the Cox Center before his illness.
Emerson was married to his wife of many years, Dori Dean, and to this union three sons were born: Marcus, Marlon, & Ephraim. This marriage was later dissolved. Then later married Gail Cole, who had preceded him in death.
Also preceded him in death were his parents: Emerson Penn Sr. and Isabell Penn; a brother, Charles Simmons; a sister, Linda Hutton; and grandparents: Thomas Penn (Mary), Joseph & Abbie (Byrd) Reason, Fellow Pettie, and Frank Pettie Sr. Brother-in-law Granville Taylor, Sr.
He leaves to mourn his passing: Wife: Aturvia, of the home; His brothers: Charles Penn, Kenneth Penn, and Keith Penn; Sisters: Star Griffin (Grant), (Brent & Doris) Taylor; Lillian Robateau (Bruce), Jacqueline Penn, and Anita Penn. Children: Marcus, (Rose); Marlon, (Mico); Ephraim; (Michelle) Marvin; Michael; Shannon (Star); Marquis; Raven; Jasmine; Mark; Mike; and Shannon Mays. Stepchildren: Javonn McCoy (deceased), Lelique Breousard, Stephon Wrice, Crystal Wrice & Darius Williams. A Host of Grandkids, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends
The Hour of Remembrance for Emerson Jr., will commence on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Harvest Time Outreach Ministries in Tulsa, where Bishop Randy Markham will be presiding.
You may visit Mr. Penn, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home in Tulsa on Thursday, December 4, 2025 between the hours of 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
