Precious Memories
"And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes. And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away."
Revelation 21:4
On April 25, 1925, Houston Brazil and Eugenia Shilo Brazil delivered a bouncing baby girl in Beggs, Oklahoma. They named her Emma Viola. She was the sixth of eleven children born to the family. She grew up surrounded by her brothers: Floyd, Lonzo, Oce, and Houston, Jr., her sisters: Vernice, Mildred, Erma, Mary, Eulala, and Barbara. As a child, "Tut," as she was affectionately called was always happy, and enjoyed making friends. Emma received her formal education in Beggs where she graduated from Wheatley High School.
Emma was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert Hill. The couple met in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They remained married for 34 years, until his passing in 1991. The couple moved to Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Hill remained there until November 11, 2010. At that point she moved to Tulsa to live with her sister Eulala James. While in Denver, Mrs. Hill continued her education at the collegiate level., even attending law school for a short time. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, serving under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Acen Phillips. Emma loved mountain climbing, rock climbing, and hiking in the mountains.
On July 24, 2011, Emma Viola Hill departed this life to the Lord's Embrace. Remaining to cherish her precious memories: two sisters: Erma Jean Banks, and Eulala C. James, both of Tulsa, OK., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, along with a special friend, Ria Korunych, Aurora, CO.
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heavens. A time to be born, and a time to die."
