IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emmett Woodley,
Jr.
May 25, 1946 – February 4, 2024
Emmett loved two things growing up. He was mechanically inclined, and he was musically talented.
His accomplishments include graduating high school at Booker T. Washington, Tulsa, Class of 1965. He received a technical certificate
from OSU Tech in Okmulgee.
Emmett was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force. Later in life he qualified for and worked as an industrial electrician at Sheffield Steel in Sand Springs, Oklahoma After leaving the military Emmett formed a band with a few of his Air Force buddies. They played several venues in Mississippi and Southern California.
After moving back to Tulsa, he married briefly but his former wife is deceased. He has no children. Emmett was a good man. Always a positive thinker, he felt he could fix anything mechanically. Musically he played keyboards, and often wrote a song or two. He enjoyed being around extended family members and was willing to give someone who was down on their luck a helping hand.
Emmett's remaining siblings and loved ones, Hollie, Ajuania, Elaine, Donnie, Susan, and Clarice, plus his many nieces and nephews would like to thank all of those who played a part in helping our brother fulfill his dreams and goals. To his mentors, teachers, employers, friends, and church family, we appreciate the time you gave Emmett to allow his journey to reach as high as he imagined. From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank you.
Mr. Emmett Woodley Jr., in his 77th year, received his earthly discharge on Sunday, February 4, 2021 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
