Obituary

On the 14 th of January, 1973 a beautiful baby girl was born to Sheila Major and Clyde Solomon. This bundle of joy was named Erica Sharee Major and instantly stole the hearts of everyone she met. As a child and into adulthood, Erica was a protector and nurturer and above all a cheerleader for all of her friends and family.
It was at an early age that Erica accepted Christ at Wilson Chapel in Haskell, OK under the leadership of Rev. Devoy Hill and she continued to grow in her spiritual life when she became a member at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church as a young lady.  Erica was educated in the Muskogee Public School System and was a proud graduate of Muskogee High with the class of 1991.  She continued her education at NEO A&M and then to Northeastern University where she majored in journalism. Erica was employed by Monarch, Inc., where she loved her job, seeing and helping women get their lives back on track.
She always had kind words and a smile that would brighten the darkest day.  Her dimple almost seemed like a permanent fixture on her beautiful face and it was near impossible to catch her without a smile.  However if you happened to see that rare event it was probably because her beloved New England Patriots lost.
Erica's greatest joy came from being a mom.  She loved her babies.  She loved her family and always made sure she showed it.  That characteristic was passed down from her beloved grandmother Edna Mae Nunley-Major; family above all else.  After 43 years with us she dozed into the tranquil peace of eternal slumber on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
Erica was preceded in death by her siblings: Derrick Major Sr. and Carla King; and her grandmother: Edna Major. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Keenan Major and Zharyah Taylor; her parents: Sheila Major and Clyde Solomon ; siblings: Raven Solomon, Giovanni Solomon and Tranell Solomon; Paternal Grandmother: Jimmie Sue Bryars; her aunts: Sandra Major, Carolyn Major, Michelle Davis, Wanda Henderson and uncles: Leroy Major Jr., Jackie Major, David Major, Teddy Solomon, Toney Solomon, Winsdale Solomon; special sisters: Antoinette Davis, Rhasheena Major and Keyonna Major-Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
