Erik Donell Ford Jr., was born to the proud parents Erik Donell Ford Sr. and Laqundra Marie Barnett on August 22, 2000 in Houston, TX but resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his maternal grandparents and guardians "Cherrie" Isabella and Ralph Cooks for the last 10 years. The family attended the Northwest English Congregation Kingdom Hall in Tulsa, OK. "Big E" enjoyed listening to bible stories that his grandfather read to him.
"Big E" was wonderful and a fun loving child, he was highly respected and affectionately known as "Big E" at Academy Central Elementary School. He received numerous awards and special achievements: Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, Outstanding Behavior, Hero of the month while at OU Children's Medical Center, Kids Wish Network granted him a wish and made him an Honorary Fire Dispatcher and they also gave him Thunder themed room makeover, Erik also gave the commencement speech for his cousin Tyshunae' Allen graduating Class of 2007.
"Big E" was preceded in death by his grandfather Leroy Wilmer Barnett Sr., and his sister Jordahn Sharee Ford. Erik is the oldest of three children, he leaves behind a younger brother Jeremiah Barnett 5 years old. Erik leaves behind his Grandparents "Cherrie" Isabella & Ralph Cooks Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pamela Ford Houston, TX and Great Grandparents Naomi and Wilmer Barnett Okmulgee, OK, Aunt Sheretta Allen of Houston, TX and Uncle Leroy "Will" Barnett Dallas, TX, Aunt Channette Fultz of Tulsa, OK, he also leaves behind his cousins Monte Barnett, Tyshunae Allen, Cameron Wilson and Craig Wilson Jr. as well as great aunts, uncles, and host of family and friends whom he loved dearly.

A letter to my nephew………Erik was a fan of OKC thunder unfortunately, so I sure hope they make him proud this year and win the Championship. He loved to smile and touch the hearts of all that came in contact with him. In Erik's final days of his life he never went a day without smiling regardless of the pain and situation, this kid was humble and loving. He taught us all lessons in life in which we will never forget staying positive and being proud. We love you "Big E" and you rest well my love we will have a chance to race so you just keep thinking of your master plan on how you are going to beat your Auntie Retta.

The Memorial Service for Erik "Big E" Ford Jr. will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 11am in All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa
