Obituary

Mrs. Erma Jean Reaves, in her 86th year, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, September 18, 2020 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

On August 10, 1934, a beautiful baby girl was born to Millard and Ora Ingram. They named her Erma Jean, but everyone called her Jeanie.

Erma Jean accepted Christ at an early age. She spent her life working and volunteering in the church in various capacities.

Jeanie met and married Willie Reaves on December 25, 1956, and five boys were born to this union.

Jeanie was a licensed cosmetologist and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She pressed and curled many a head in her home for minimal charge—the fellowship was enough. She later became a domestic housekeeper and worked in that role for many years.

Jeanie loved cooking and baking. Everyone in the town of Summit, Oklahoma could stop by for some kind of treat with Kool-Aid because she loved and was loved by all.

Jeanie was a great supporter of her boys' educational and sporting activities. She and her husband Willie were their #1 fans. Jeanie will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, Millard and Ora Ingram, siblings Earl, Minerva, Melvin, Dorothy, Katherine, Almetta, Trotter, Curtis, and Roseanna. Her husband of 41 years, Willie Reaves, and their baby boy, Mark welcomed her to Heaven's gates. She leaves to cherish her loving legacy her sister Hattie Bell Elliott, her sons Eugene (Harriett), Donald (Blanchie), Willie T. (Thrissa), and Samuel Lee. Her grandchildren include Samantha, Brandi, Rozlynn, Willie T. Jr., Tiffany, Shiquira, Tiaquanne, Jerry and Toryn; great-grandchildren Jasmine, Jerome, Karrington, Latrell, Lanai, and Toryn; and great-great-grandchildren Zayden and Zuri. A caravan of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends, cherish her in loving memory.

Her Sacred Farewell will commence on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.

You may visit Mrs. Reaves, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Thursday, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Burial will follow her service in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee.
