IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Erma Jeane
Tiger
July 22, 1938 – January 23, 2018
"as we Reflect on a Notable Life….."
Erma Jeane Tiger was born on July 22, 1938 to Pidy and Mildred Thomas Tiger in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of seven children born to Pidy and Mildred. The early years of her life were filled with love, travel and explorations. As she became school age, the family returned to Oklahoma and she was enrolled in Booker T. Washington School. She had a keen interest in arts and she excelled in school. She played the clarinet in the Booker T. Washing marching band. She went on to complete high school and earn a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma.
During her life's journey she met Simon L. Richardson and experienced life as a military wife. This union was blessed with two children, Valerie Kay and Victor Lloyd.
Over the course of time….she met and married Johnny L. Wallace. To this union two additional blessings were added to the family, Tracy Leah and John Chauncey.
At an early age, Erma joined the Snowden CME Church in Sapulpa. She spent her lifetime in service to the lord in various capacities. She served as the First Lady of The Upper Room Pentecostal Church in Sapulpa. She was a respected missionary, evangelical speaker and prayer warrior until her health began to fail at which time she held bible studies with her grandchildren.
Erma enjoyed collecting stamps, rocks and old vinyl albums. She loved "good food" and was known for saying, "I have a taste for_______" (which was likely to be BBQ beef chili, hot links or ice cream.)
Erma was very proud of her children and grandchildren and wanted successful and prosperous lives for all her family. She was a very generous person and ALWAYS shared everything she owned. She would literally give you the shirt off her back.
She loved to travel to visit historic places and see the sights.
Rejoicing in her life and the warmth of her memory are her loving and devoted children: Valerie (Lonnie), Victor, Tracy and Chauncey; her brother Earnest; her sister, Wilma Tiger; grandchildren: Tanisha Jones, Jeremiah Richardson, Essence Barnes, Simon Richardson, ______Pannell, Stacey Willis, Marysa Richardson; 1 aunt, Amanda Tompkins, 1 uncle, Tom Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and friends. She had several special longtime friends with whom she cherished, Lynn Wright, Johnny Hodge, and Jeanette Jones.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. ~ Psalms 84:10
