Obituary

The beginning of life for Ervin Nathaniel Borens began in Clarksville, Oklahoma, on November 15, 1954, to the loving parents of L. D. Borens and Lilian Jo Walton Borens. A very wholesome, loving, and blessed family of God, he was the sixth child of fifteen. As he grew, he enjoyed running up and down the dirt and graveled roads of Clarksville and Tullahassee. Ervin graduated school at Carter G. Woodson in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, in 1973. He later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and became a member of the Pentecostal Deliverance Church under the Pastorage of Elder James Taylor where he gave his life to the Lord.

He married Hollis Worley, and to this union, three children were born. He later married Pamela Ross, and to this union, a daughter was born. He was also blessed with a son and a daughter from his wife. Ervin was a very mild-mannered person and cared deeply for people. He loved his family. He loved to give. He was a servant, helping wherever he could. He began his work career in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at Ideal Brick and Ted's Drywall, and he later moved to Philadelphia, Pennyslvania, and worked as a drywall finisher. He earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. He loved working with children in his neighborhood. His passion was drywall, be became a member of Local Drywall Finishers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He loved to travel, and driving was relaxing to him. He was an excellent cook and loved making specialty foods like quiche or souffle.

On January 5, 2023, Ervin left this world to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, L. D. Borens; mother, Lillian Borens;
sister, Norma Gean Walker; and four brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Alfonzo, and Keith.

He leave to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Pamela; daughters, Shannon, Ashley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Latiticia (Jeremy) of Muskogee, Kalicia of Philadelphia; two sons, Jamiel (Liz) and Kyi Sr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; six brothers, Pastor Benjamin Borens (Thermaple), Elder Leonard Borens (Loretta), Michael (Peggy), John (Jaunita), all of Tulsa, Carl (Darlene) of Muskogee, and William of Tulsa; three sisters, Deanna Taylor (Bishop James Taylor) of Pennsylvania, Katherina Parker (Robert) of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Ellen Francis Borens of Tulsa; eighteen grandchildren, Nafi, Mia, Charmaine, Nasir, Kyeema, Kyi Jr., Kyanna, Deysahn, Jinae', Kaiden, Zachariah, Durel, Raylan, Aniah, Jemiah, Janylah, Chance, and Zena; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
