Mr. Erwin Pease, in his 68th year, transitioned from life to everlasting on Friday, November 21, 2008 from the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center.
On August 25, 1940, a baby boy was born to George and Beatrice Pease. They named him Erwin and he was the third of four children.
Erwin grew up in Boynton, Oklahoma, but received his education at Manual Training High School. After graduating from Manual, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. While in the Army, he became a professional boxer and earned his Honorable Discharge in 1964.
He met Almita Buffington after his time in the Army and they were married. Their union was blessed with two children. Brother Pease worked for K Mart in Muskogee for many years. Later, he moved to Tulsa, where he was employed at Burlington Coat Factory before his retirement.
After a lengthy illness, Erwin Pease surrendered his soul on Friday, November 21, 2008 from the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Elbert and his ex-wife, Almita.
The loved one's he leaves behind to cherish his fond memory; his son, Eddie; his daughter, Markita, both of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three sisters, Georgia Reed and Rosetta Pease, both of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Elvis Logan, Summit, Oklahoma; along with grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Remembrance. Reverend Clifford Beasley will officiate. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma at 1:00 P.M.
