After living a long, fruitful life, Espanola Barnes went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, March 29, 2020 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She began her life on May 27, 1928 with her large Simmons family in Haskell, Oklahoma. While she graduated from Douglass High School in Oklahoma City in 1946, her education began at Simmons Chapel Community Church ans School After graduation, Espanola had a long career as a singer, traveling mostly throughout Europe.
After she returned to Muskogee, she graduated with honors from Connors State College. She furthered her education, graduating from the renowned Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. Again, she returned to Muskogee and lived her dream for 25 years as a fashion designer and seamstress, where she owned the La Casa de Espanola.
Honoring her personal wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be buried in the Friday Cemetery, near her birthplace in Haskell, Oklahoma.
