Mrs. Ethel Lee Davis, after "Four-score and four years" surrendered to the will of the Lord on Saturday morning, December 2, 2006 from her home in Okmulgee.
Mrs. Davis was born in Henderson, Texas and lived in Hollis, Oklahoma, where she married Floyd Davis. She ultimately settled in Okmulgee.
Her joy was caring for her family, and being faithful to God. She spent her spare time fishing and gardening and was a faithful member of Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ.
Her kind and loving spirit was evident in the fact that she would feed anyone that was hungry and would give her last to anyone in need.
She leaves to rejoice in her homegoing; her daughters, Jo Ann Sanders-Cole, Okmulgee, Betty Knox, Okmulgee and Blondie Davis, Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; extended family, Karen Sue Bowman and Carla Bowman; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The farewell will be a graveside ceremony in accordance to Mrs. Davis's wishes on Friday, December 8, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. You may visit Mrs. Davis, as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee on Thursday from 10 AM until 6 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Davis requested that donations be made to the Dunbar Learning Academy in her memory.
