Mrs. Etholia Marie Hawkins, after 78 years, transitioned from life to everlasting on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. Known as Marie to family and friends, she was born August 27, 1941 to Rudolph and Glyndean Brinkley in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She is the oldest of six children. She was a cheerleader at Dunbar High School and graduated in 1961. Go Tigers!

Marie loved painting, singing with her sisters, playing the piano, fishing with her family, playing cards with friends, shopping at flea markets and garage sales. She loved reading her bible and researching her family history.

Marie was a member of Greater Jones Chapel AME Zion Church in Okmulgee. She worked for Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing for over 27 years.

She was met in "Glory" by her parents, two brothers, Rudolph, Jr. and Freddie, and two sisters, Delois "Tutsie" Hill-Richardson, and Gladys "Duchie" Jackson.

Remaining to wait on the Lord: her husband Charles Hawkins, Sr. of the home - Okmulgee; her three sons, Charles, Jr. (Eunice), -Okmulgee, Rodney - Okmulgee, Donald Maurice (Patricia), Glenpool, and one daughter, Cheryl - Okmulgee; her brother, Leroy "Bootsie" Brinkley -Okmulgee: her nine grandchildren; Jason, Juan, Sheena, DeAnte, Charisse (Eddie), Adrian, Danielle, Roderick, and Chyra and 15 great grandchildren, along with brother-in-law, Orsbon Hawkins, Sr. and sister-in-law, Edna Hawkins, other relatives and friends.

Her final hour will be shared on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of the First Baptist Church-Okmulgee, 311 W. 5th Street in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Pastor Dennis Taylor is the gracious host pastor and Reverend Greg Richardson will officiate.
