Our dear, beloved Brother, Eugene Edward Grizzard was born on June 25, 1935 from the union of Jesse Jole and Eva Mae Grizzard near Council Hill, Oklahoma.
He attended Taft D.B.& O. school and after completing school, moved to Kansas City, Kansas. He returned to Oklahoma, where he worked as a handyman. After his retirement, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and remained a resident there until his death.
Mr. Grizzard was a very humble and caring individual. He always greeted everyone he met with a big, beautiful smile. He and his brother, Jerry were inseparable. His hobbies were fishing, working on small appliances and taking long walks.
Mr. Grizzard departed this life on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory; a brother, Jerry Grizzard, Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Corrine Dukes and Pearlie Mae Heard, both of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Shirley [Arnett] Richardson, Oklahoma City; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Helen Grizzard, Checotah, Oklahoma and Patricia Grizzard, Oklahoma City; and a life-long friend, Addie Smith, along with a special niece, Kasiana Ligons.
The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Grizzard will be on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., graveside ceremony in the Warrior Cemetery, west of Checotah, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mr. Grizzard, as she slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Thursday from 12 Noon until 6 PM.
