On July 9, 1924 in Beggs, Oklahoma to the union of Wesley and Callie Lewis a daughter was born, naming her Eula Mae. Eula and her siblings were reared in Okmulgee where she received her education. At an early age she professed her love for Christ attending several churches with her walk in Christ. Eula loved the Lord and would tell everybody about Jesus.
On April 5, 1964, she married John Evans. The couple never had children but Eula "birthed" (as she would say), a lot of nieces and nephews. She lived the majority of her life in Okmulgee. In 2006, she moved to Tulsa to be closer to family.
Eula loved to dress and was very stylish. Her style was unique and it always consisted of her main accessory: HATS! Eula loved hats and had an amazing collection. Singing was her passion; she would break into song at any time, especially at home going services. You didn't even have to ask her, a song was coming! People enjoyed her singing. She would sing for the Green Country Nursing Staff and residents.
On August 24, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Eula went home to rest in peace. She fought a good fight, 90 years strong. Her husband, parents, and all her siblings preceded her in death. Cherishing her memories is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 11AM at Greater Grace Church in Tulsa. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 12Noon until 7PM in Tulsa.
