Obituary

On May 1, 1956, Alpha Mills Lowe along with her then husband Emmitt Harris, Sr., (stepdad) celebrated the birth of a handsome baby boy. She named him Rudolph Clinton, but he was affectionately known as "Rudy." Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Rudy completed his education in the Denver Public School System.

At an early age Rudy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior under the tutelage of Reverend W. O. Mays of Central Baptist Church. He later received the Holy Ghost and his call into the ministry under the late Apostle Ralph Beechum, Sr., of the House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church in Denver, Colorado, becoming an ordained and licensed minister.

Rudy was fondly known as "Rudy the Baptist" because if you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that Jesus was your Lord and Savior, the next step for him was to take you down in Jesus Name. He said, "This was an outward show of a new work inside." Rudy worked at the Denver Bureau of Reclamation as one of the 1st African American men responsible for scientific testing of toxic chemicals. He also served as Chief of Security for Western Grocers. Rudy, also known as "Ru", was an expert in surveilling property, devising systems aimed at keeping one's property safe. He served as a Muskogee Police Officer and Auxiliary for over fifteen (15) years. He later became known to many as the proprietor of the "Little Store" located on Junction and Arline. Parents would send their children there to play the arcade games, knowing that Rudy kept them safe and gave them plenty to eat.

Rudy never met a stranger. His expertise to father well developed from him not knowing who his biological father was. Many laughed because he has seven (7) children and a host of their friends who fondly called him Dad. His mantra was to make everyone feel welcome and connected to him. Much to his wife's dismay, he never changed.

In 1979, he became employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs Health and Administration where he served in various capacities ranging from entry level to executive management, including eighteen (18) years as Chief of Police.

He co-founded Turning Point New Deliverance Ministries, serving as Pastor and eventually accepting his calling as the Prophet Evangelist that he was. He traveled extensively preaching revival wherever a door opened no matter how near or far. He was one of the men of God who never had to call or ask for a revival. He was in popular demand, deliverance was his brand. He supported his loving wife in the role of being the Pastor and the Apostle of the now Turning Point New Deliverance Apostolic Church Center Inc., headquartered in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Those who remain to celebrate his life and continue his legacy include: his devoted wife, Prophetess Pastor J.E.; his seven children, four daughters and three sons, Nikita (Beainco), Sh'Pone (Kristy), Nikira (Josh), Rudolph Jr. (McKayla), Naresha (Anthony), Randall and Neondrea; 19 grandchildren; a special daughter Alexis Johnson (who affectionately called him "fat guy"); a special niece, Ashley Brown Peterson (whom he affectionately called "Pippy Longstocking"); and a special nephew, Stanley Brown, Jr., aka BJ; his sister, Cheri E. Harris; his brother, Emmitt H. Harris, Jr.; four nieces and two nephews; an uncle, Earl (Hahn) Lowe, Sr.; aunts, Carolyn (Albert) Duley and Lucretia (James) Hayden; and a slew of cousins.

In the ninth hour of Friday, April 6th, we believe God reached down and pulled the man of God from his earthly existence to eternal rest, and for the last time he experienced, "God will pull you through if you can stand the Pull." He leaves loving memories in the hearts of a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his mother Alpha Mills Lowe and his sister Charlita "Lena" Harris
