Mae Tillman
March 16, 1926 – January 1, 2021
Evangelist Eliza Mae Tillman was born March 16, 1926 to George Washinton Nave, Sr., and Ruby Carbin in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was the second of three children in the family.
She recieved her education through the Oklahoma and Iowa school systems. While in Sioux City, Iowa, she met and married George S. Tillman. During this union, two daughters were conceived; Ruby G. Johnson and Stella Mae Tillman. While living in Sioux City, Sister Tillman completed training as a barber and started cutting hair on the Sioux City Air Force Base. After the Lord touched and filled her heart with the Holy Spirit, she started evangelising and telling her testimony of how God changed her life.
She was known for going house to house, church to church and state to state telling of God's goodness and being born again. In early 2000, she also provided the good news over an AM Radio segment titled "Straight Talk." During these segments, she was known for telling people of what was needed to live Holy, not what the wanted to hear.
Early on the first day of this new year, 51 minutes past Midnight. Evangelist transferred her membership to "Church Triumphant" from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both brothers, Georg and Pastor Paul Nave; her husband of 63 years, her daughter, Ruby Johnson, her son-in-law, Billy R. Fields, Sr., 2 grandsons, Ruben Johnson and David Tillman and 3 nephews.
She leaves in God's care; her daughter, Stella Fields, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandson, Joseph Tillman [Sherilyn]; her granddaughters, Eliza Fields; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her granddaughter, Rachel K. Johnson, Beaumont, Texas; a sister-in-law, Betty Nave, Denver, Colorado; her cousin, Pastor John Martin, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her cousin, John Nave, Topeka, Kansas; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Ceremony will be shared on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.
Her ashes will be placed in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Social Distancing and Mandatory Mask Coverings will be required.
