The youngest of 3 children born from the union of Willie and Leora [Mason] Thompson arrived in Beggs, Oklahoma on April 23, 1943. They named her Evelor.
Evelor grew up in Beggs, where she attended the Wheatley School. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and joined the St. John Baptist Church in Slick, Oklahoma. She continued to attend St. John Baptist Church, until her health would no longer allow.
She worked for Kwikset Black & Decker in Bristow for 19 years before retiring in 2004. Later in life, she united in marriage to Seerenas Evans in October of 2002. This union united 10 children.
On Sunday evening, April 22, 2007, God called her home and she surrendered her Soul from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Awaiting her arrival in Heaven are her parents and two sisters.
She leaves in God's care; her children, Kenny & Sandra Thompson, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Sheldon & Inell Williams, Beggs, Oklahoma and Stevie & Shanna Williams, Sherman, Texas; her step-children, Joseph Evans, Glenda Daily, Donald Evans, Reginald Evans, Otis Evans, Barbara Evans and Norvella Solomon, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her Aunt, Alvaloyce & Jake Williamson, Beggs, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law, Rev. Earnest Joe Lewis, Beggs, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; a host of step-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The tribute will be on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, 211 W. 1st in Beggs. Reverend James Williams will officiate. The Christian committal will follow in the Beggs Cemetery.
