On March 8, 1949, the Lord delivered a beautiful gift of life to Ennis Asberry, Sr., and Clemmie Asberry of Haskell, OK. They named her Evelyn Marie Asberry.
She attended Booker T. Washinton in Haskell, but graduated from Haskell High School with the class of 1968. Soon thereafter, she met and married Danny J. Byington. God graced this union for 50 years, as well as blessing them with four beautiful children.
Evelyn became employed at Haskell Manor as a CNA, where she loved taking care of people. She later decided to work for Fort Howard, Blue Bell, and eventually returned to Haskell Manor.
Evelyn was a loving, caring, and giving person. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, decorating, and most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grand- and great-grandkids, her husband, other family, and friends.
Evelyn gave her life to Christ at the age of 12, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church in Bald Hill, Oklahoma.
In her 72nd season of life, Evelyn Marie Byington surrendered her soul to Jesus on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at 9:30 PM.
Preceding her to Heaven were her mother and father, Ennis Sr., and Clemmie Asberry; one son, Anthony Asberry; two sisters, Julie Mae Asberry and Syzella Asberry; two brothers, Ennis Asberry, Jr., and Grady Asberry; one grandson, Martez Shumate; and a special niece, Gloria Dinwiddie.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Danny J. Byington, Sr., of the home; two daughters, Eunice (Vernon) Curl of Haskell, OK, and Isabella (Bobby) Byington of Coweta, OK; one son, Danny J. (Candance) Byington, Jr.; one goddaughter, Latonya Bowie of Broken Arrow, OK; three sisters, Norma (Jacob) Anderson and May (Louis) Marshell, both of Porter, OK, and Irma Asberry of Coweta, OK; and one brother, James Asberry of Okmulgee, OK.
Evelyn was blessed with ten grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; a special cousin, Donne Brown Tompkins of Kansas City, MO; and a special niece, Betty Anderson of Broken Arrow, OK; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
