Evelyn was born on February 21, 1927, to Oscar and Lover Chaplin in the township of Haskell, Oklahoma. While still yet at an impressionable age, she accepted Christ and joined Church.
Evelyn completed 12 years of school and she married the love of her life, Jack Henry Jackson on November 17, 1958. She was a faithful member of Wilson Chapel Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma until her health began to fail. She continued to attend with her adopted daughter, Cliffetta Harrison, who would pick her up every Sunday. Mrs. Jackson loved singing her favorite song, "The Lord will make a way Somehow." She served the Lord as Sunday School Superintendent, as well as many other positions. Evelyn loved fishing and cooking and was best known for her German Chocolate Cake. The Family often joked that she could take a meal from the freezer to the table in one hour.
Evelyn Jackson became employed at the Mental Health Hospital in Taft, Oklahoma in 1959, which later became Oklahoma Children's Center, where was loved by the children there. She retired in 1985 after 26 years of service.
