Obituary

A beautiful baby girl arrived in Coweta, Oklahoma on September 25, 1919 from teh loving union of Jewell and Mattie Bryant Clark. She was named Evelyn.

Evelyn was a loving, precious daughter who attended Booker T. Washington. As she grew older, she was an aspiring entertainer. She entered a talent show, which she won, that allowed her to travel to Detroit, Michigan and pursue a career in entertainment. Her work allowed her to travel extensively and lead a full life.

Later in life, Evelyn met a gentleman, Robert L. Palmer and they fell in love. Their love blossomed into 39 years of marriage. Although no children were born from this union, she loved children and raised others as her own.

She eventually moved to Dallas, Texas to care for her parents. Living an active life, her love for music led her to become a member of the KKDA Radio Station, where she was known as "Little Mama" to all of her friends.

She served the Lord and was a member of the Golden Gate Baptist Church. Evelyn also worked as a Department STore Clerk in Dallas until her health began to fail, after which she came to Oklahoma to be near her family.

Evelyn C. Palmer, in her 86th year, dozed into Eternity from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She leaves in God's care; a sister, Alice F. Jones, Tullahassee, Oklahoma; a niece, Mattie & Theodore Johnson, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two nephews, Robert L. & Tony Jones and James Jones, Jr., Tullahassee, Oklahoma; two grand-nieces, Breana Johnson and Alexis Johnson; a grand-nephew, Theodore Johnson, II; a special "Sister/Friend", Claudia Morrison, Detroit, Michigan; along with other relatives and friends.

The farewell will be on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Remembrance at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee. Reverend Larnnie Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Tullahassee, Oklahoma.
