Obituary

Ms. Evonne Akins dosed into eternal rest on May 10, 2017 with her family by her side.

On November 8, 1985 Evonne Chante' Akins was born to the union of Yolanda Douglas, and Ronnie Akins.  As a young girl Evonne joined Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Evonne learned her education from Springdale Elementary, Cleveland Middle School and graduated from the Nathan Hale High School with the Class of 2004.

Later in life she met London D. Tibbs Sr. in that union, they were blessed with a son, London Tibbs Jr. Sharon Tibbs, mother of London Sr. became a good friend and motherly figure to Evonne.

In 2010 Evonne met and fell in love with Mark Howell. He loved and cherished her dearly.  The two were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2012 and named her Regin'a Howell.  During the time Evonne met Mark she also met Norma Boyd who is Marks' mother. From the first time Norma met Evonne she grew very fond of her and the two shared a wonderful 8 years together until her death.

Evonne was a very special person; she loved being a wife, mother, auntie, sister, and daughter.  She loved spending time with her kids and her nieces, whom she treated as her own. Some of her greatest memories were shared with her husband and what a wonderful bond they shared.  In her spare time she enjoyed her hanging out with her sisters: Yvonne Akins, Kenyetta Smith, Lashea Brown, Ebony Washington, Latoya Gray, Anjanette Willis, April, and Christina.  The thing she love the most was going down to her mothers' house and sitting in her lap, hugging and kissing her and would just tell her momma to hold her. Evonne loved and cherished her mother.  Evonne was excited to start a new chapter in her life by beginning taking college courses this spring.

You will truly be missed…..

Evonne now joins her family who preceded her in death: (Father) William H. Douglas Jr., (grandpa) Frank Taylor, (grandmother) Darlene M. Taylor, and her (uncle) Christopher E. Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory: (mother) Yolanda Douglas, (son) London Tibbs Jr., (daughter) Regin'a Howell, (husband) Mark Howell, (mother-in-law) Norma Boyd, (sisters) Yvonne Akins, Kenyetta Smith, (nieces) Jada Smith, Mesa, E'liya, and Jordan. A (great-nephew) D'Niko and a host of cousins, friends, and family.
