IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ferdinand Joseph
Cain
February 15, 1931 – November 6, 2021
Mr. Ferdinand Cain, in his 90th season of life, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
Truly an ideal father, grandfather, uncle, husband, and friend, Fred was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Clara Mae Cain on February 15, 1931. He married Mary Alice Cain on May 6, 1952, and they lived in love and marital bliss for 60 beautiful years.
His journey in life was filled with adventure, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1949, and proudly serving his country for over 20 years. During this time, he was stationed in many exciting and exotic locations, such as Okinawa, Japan, where he lived for seven years, with his wife and children by his side. He went on to become one of the first male students in the nursing class of Bacone College, graduating and working as a registered nurse for over 20 years, and according to him, knowing more than the doctors. "Fred" also had many other self-proclaimed endeavors, including baker, chemical engineer, lawyer, restaurateur, weatherman, fisherman, fashion designer, etc., truly becoming a jack of all trades.
Serving as the patriarch of the family, Ferdinand was affectionately known to many as Uncle Sweetah. He was the glue that held the family together, taking his nieces and nephews under his wing, and extending a helping hand and fatherly advice to all he met.
Fred served God as an active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma, as well as later, Rayfield Baptist Church in Muskogee. His loving, light-hearted nature and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all.
Ferdinand is survived by his five children, Michael Cain, Mary Porter, David Cain, Mark Cain, and Sharon Cain, and a host of other family, as well as friends.
