Obituary

Mrs. Florine Nichols, after 79 years with us, is now resting.....

She left us from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Born March 10, 1932 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Henry and Leaner DeBose, Florine accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of 13 under the pastorship of Rev. J.E. Lloyd.

Florine attended Dunbar grade school and graduated from Manual Training High School with the class of 1950. She was well-known for her high-stepping, show
stopping routine as the drum majorette. It has been said that downtown businesses would close their shops just to see her perform during parades.

Florine attended Langston University for a short while after High School and later
attended Draughn Business College.

In 1951, she married Alphonso Collins. This union was later dissolved. Florine worked as the concession manager at the Grand Theater for five years and
then as a Practical Nurse at the Taft State Hospital from 1954-1961.

In 1971 she met and married Clarence E. Nichols and remained in holy matrimony until his death in 1986. It was during this union that she began her life as an
entrepreneur. She was owner and manager of Queen Bee Bar B Q for well over twenty years. She also owned/operated Queen Bees's Social Club for several years in Taft, Oklahoma.

Florine loved to meet people and was always willing to help anyone that she could.
