a Soldiers life.......
On April 09, 1947 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Floyd Lewis Dixon became the first child born to Geraldine and Aaron Dixon. It was there that he accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Floyd lived the majority of his life in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Ardmore and Marietta working at Little Brownie Bakery Cookie Shop, and also where he was known for smoking great briskets. The latter years of his life have been spent living in Beggs, Oklahoma. He spent two years in the Armed Services in Germany.
Floyd never produced any children on his own, but he raised serveral several children and grandchildren, and they all love him and called him Papa. Floyd loved his family, and enjoyed family gatherings with his parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters and all his many cousins. The yearly Okmulgee Rodeo was one of his favorite occasions.
Floyd was preceded in death by his biological dad Aaron, his mother and the man he knew and loved in his heart as daddy, Horace Sr.and Geraldine Hall, two sisters Darlene and Pamela Dixon. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion Linda Churchill, three brothers, LaRon Dixon (Linda), Horace Hall Jr. (Jackie) and Gregory Hall (Lapeania); one sister, Arlene Woolfork; three neices, Katina Woolfork, Cornelia (Dixon) Bass and Candice Dixon; three nephews, Gregory Q. Hall, Gary Q. Hall, Garat Q. McNeal, and several special cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services for Mr. Floyd Lewis Dixon will be Saturday January 20, 2018 at 11AM inside The Okmulgee Chapel.
