Obituary

The sixth of nine children born from the loving union of Tiller and Geneva Watson arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 20, 1958. A bouncing, baby boy, he was given the name Floyd Allen Watson.

Affectionately referred to as "Dordy", he grew up in Tulsa, where he attended the Tulsa Public Schools. His education included graduation from Central High School in Tulsa, before attending Central State University and Bryan Institiute, focusing on study as a Medical Assistant.

The foundation of his life was solid, as he accepted Christ at an impressionable age at Friendship Baptist Church, under the late Reverend T. C. Morris. He remained a member there until his death.

Floyd was a very skilled man. Throughout his life, he worked as a general laborer, but could paint, was a "shade tree" mechanic, however, you name it, he could do it.

On January 30, 2007, Floyd Allen Watson, after 48 seasons, surrendered his soul to Jesus from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tiller and Geneva Watson and a brother, Arthur Watson.

He leaves to lament his passing; his children, Joshua, Courtney, Hope, Russell and Floyd; his siblings, Carolyn Watson, Tiller A. and Pam Watson, Jr., Diantha Walls, Paulette Allison, Carmen and Kenneth Gaines and Bennie and Kathy Watson, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Anthony and Cheryl Watson, Pasadena, California; his loving companion, Angelica "Stinky" Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss his presence.

The farewell tribute will be on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the All Faiths Chapel. Reverend Tiller Watson, III, will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.

You may visit Mr. Watson, as he slumbers at the funeral home on Monday from 12 Noon to 7 PM.
