Frank Hood was born on March 18, 1928 in Dripping Springs Settlement, Southwest of Okmulgee to Lavander and Gussie Hood Alfred. He was the third child of five children.

As a youth, he attended Rosenwald School and graduated in 1946. He later enlisted in the United States Army and served with pride, honor and dignity. Frank attended Oklahoma State Tech and finished with a degree in furniture upholstery in 1954.

Mr. Hood fathered two sons, Rusty and Dennis. Mr. Hood was employed with the United States Postal Service for 35 years until his retirement. He was also the Secretary at Sharps Cemetery for 25 years. He enjoyed life and his hobbies included fishing and gardening. He didn't mind sharing his "goodies" either.

Frank united with Jones Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee. He later attended Saint Mary's Christian Center until his health began to fail. He truly was a faithful servant.
