Obituary

Mr. Freddie C. Hawkins, after 62 years, went dancing with Angels into Eternity on Sunday, November 26, 2007 from his home in Muskogee. Affectionately referred to as "Fred" by all who knew him, Mr. Hawkins was born in Van Buren, Arkansas on May 8, 1944, the son of Charles Henry and Elsie [Humbard] Hawkins. Fred grew up in Van Buren and Muskogee, attending school in both places. He has lived in Muskogee for the past 49+ years and attended Trinity Baptist Church. He loved dancing and his favorite pastime was fishing. He always enjoyed his family and loved a good meal consisting of Chicken Fried Steak and of course, Catfish. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving family; his sons, Shawn Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins and Freddie Charles Hawkins, Jr., all of Muskogee; his daughters, Zoe Young and Freddie Katherine Trussell, both of Muskogee, Julie Epperson, Wagoner, Oklahoma and Rachal Hodges, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; his sisters, Jeri Duggan, Muskogee and Vi Chitwood, Van Buren, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A memorial service, sharing in his memory will be held on Wednesday morning, November 29, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Remembrance at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.
