Obituary

On November 17, 1983, a baby boy was born to Antoinette Simmons-Alexander and George Smith in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. They named their new bundle of joy Frederick Darnell Simmons. Fred grew up in his hometown of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He graduated with the proud class of 2002. Upon graduation, he attended Ottawa University in Kansas on a football scholarship. Fred was always very passionate about sports, especially football. He grew up in the Macedonia Baptist Church in Okmulgee, and has always been devoted to God. He was an amazing father, fiance, son, brother, and friend. He was a unique and special soul and had a smile that would light up your heart. He was loving, giving, loyal, and strong and would never hesitate to do for others. Anyone who crossed paths with our dear sweet Fred was bless to know him.

Frederick Darnell Simmons went to glory on July 21, 2011 in Kansas City, Kansas. Remaining to cherish his precious memories: his fiance, Bianca Ortiz, Lawrence, KS., two children: Chris Edwards, and Layla Simmons, Lawrence, KS., mother, Antionette Simmons-Alexander, grandmother, Mildred Smith, Louisiana, father, George Smith (Freddie), Tennessee, sisters: Tiffany Allen, Joslin Simmons, Laura King, Tymberlyn King, Lousiana, and Shanta Brown, Tennessee, brothers: Steven, Reginald, Runnell, Dedrick, Louisiana, Antwine Louellen, and Frederick Foster, Tennessee, uncles: Robert Simmons, Louisiana, Michael Simmons, Louisiana, Donald Simmons, Louisiana, Wayne Simmons, Oklahoma, Anthony and Rachel Simmons, Oklahoma, aunt, Janice and Rickie Montgomery, Oklahoma, special aunts: Anita Parker Robinson, and Angela Pilarczyk, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him.

His Services will proceed on Friday July 29, 2011 at 11AM at Eastside Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Friends may visit him on Thursday from 12Noon to 6PM in Okmulgee.
