Fredricka Ann Andrews, affectionately known as "Fred", was born on April 23, 1939, to Edward and Ethel Partridge in IXL. She was the little sister to Claude and the big sister to Glen, Joan, and Billie Jo. Fredricka attended IXL School and completed the 11th grade at Boley Public Schools.
Through the guidance of her parents, she accepted Christ at Pleasant Hill AME Church IXL.
She married J. D. Gilbert and to this union one child was born, Michael "Mike" Ray Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert preceded her in death. Later, she united with Melvin Andrews and two sons were born, Melvin Jr., and Keenan.
Fredricka was employed with the Federal Aviation Administrationas a custodian. Later, she joined Delivery Express as a courier driver.
"Fred", as she was often called by her family and close friends, was always the "life of the party". In her spare time, she loved to
play all types of games such as softball, cards, dominoes, and her all-time favorite, bingo. She always wanted to make sure everyone
was having a good time.
Mrs. Fredricka Andrews at the age of 80 years, surrendered to her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, November 21, 2019.
Her parents, Ethel and Edward, and siblings, Claude and Billie Jo, preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Michael "Mike", Melvin, Jr., and Keenan; siblings, Glen Sr., and Joan; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Hour of Remembrance for Mrs. Fredricka Andrews will be on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Amos Temple CME Church, Boley, Oklahoma. Pastor Betty Shelby is the gracious host, Pastor Cleophus Jones, Eulogist.
Burial will follow in East Saint Emmanuel Cemetery in Boley.
You may visit Mrs. Andrews, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 12 Noon until 5:00 PM.
