Mr. Garry D. Simpson, Sr., after 42 years, made his transition to eternity on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 from Muskogee. Garry Delane Simpson, Sr., was born in Oklahoma City, OK on Dec. 10, 1962, the son of Fred Sutton and Viola [Brown] Simpson. Garry received his education in the Muskogee Public Schools and Carter G. Woodson High School in Tullahassee, OK. Garry loved sports, but his favorite was football. Garry united in marriage with Shirley Jefferson and this union produced a son, Garry Jr. Mr. Simpson was a loyal employee of Ft. Howard, Ft. James and Georgia Pacific for 25 years. Later in life, He discovered the Lord and accepted him in his life as his personal savior. He was baptized by Rev. B. W. Noble at Antioch Baptist Church. Garry loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves to lament his passing; his wife, Shirley; 2 sons, Garry Jr., and Kendall; his mother, Viola Simpson; 4 sisters, Doroty [Carl] Burton, Oklahoma City, Sheila Sutton, Muskogee, Tammy Barnwell, Oklahoma City and Laverne Simpkins, Purcell, OK; a brother, Fred Sutton, Jr., Omaha, NE; his uncles, Melvin Brown, Donald Lee Daniels, Kenneth Ray McQuary; his aunts, Betty Brown, Vila Mae Brown, Alene Sutton, Dimples Hopkins and Rosie Mae Crosland; along with a caravan of other relatives and friends. The final tribute to Mr. Simpson will be on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. B. W. Noble, the Senior Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee. You may visit Garry, as he slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Thursday from 12 Noon until 7 PM. Casket bearers will be Ron Benson, Kevin Graham, Tony Thompson, Prince Phillips, Ronnie Webb and Henry Johnson.
