Mrs. Geneva J. Lewis, after 73 years, "made her way to Heaven" on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Geneva Johnson was born on the twelfth day of January, in 1949, to Willie and Iletha Johnson. She was the sixth child of eight children in the family and was the oldest daughter.

Geneva accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at Blackjack Baptist Church near Taft, Oklahoma. She attended school at Moton Schools in Taft during her formative years.

Early in life, Geneva birthed her daughter, Michaelle, during a brief relationship with William Jackson. later, she met and married O'Dean Drew on November 12, 1966, and from this union, one child, Vickie, was born, but together, they adopted and raised Jerod from three months old.

Geneva was a dedicated worker at Ball Brothers Glass, Inc., for 28 years until the company relocated. She also worked the voting polls for a number of years.

Later in life, she met and married Wilbert "Bimp" Lewis, and to this union, no children were born, but he had two daughters, Latrisha and Victoria, who she loved dearly and helped raise and nurture into adulthood. Wilbert was a faithful member of First Baptist Church-Central and led her to worship there with him. They both were faithful members until their deaths. She served the Lord as an usher and had other assigned duties in the church. She
loved her Pastor and his wife and family, and they also loved her. Geneva later met and married J.C. Dale on March 25, 2016. They shared his six children, Willie James, Shalawn, Renee, Kashif (Mika), India, and Terrell.

Geneva loved to play dominoes, card games, and was always willing to open up her home to basically anyone. She also loved to cook and bake. Her favorite was banana pudding and her famous carrot cake, chocolate sheet cake with pecans on top, sweet potato pies, and her famous gumbo.

After 73 years, Geneva Johnson Dale peacefully transitioned to eternal rest with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. She and her brother, Joy Jackson, Sr., also received their wings on the same day about an hour apart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willlie and Iletha Johnson; her sisters, Willie Mae (Cooper), Grayson, Francis (Ewell) Ennis, and Elvira (General) Escoe; her brothers, Albert L. (Johnnie Mae) Johnson, Joy (Warnella) Jackson, and Leonard (Ardie) Jackson; and a granddaughter, Lakeia Gaines.

Geneva was loved by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, J.C. Dale; four daughters, Michaelle of Okmulgee, Vickie (Sidney) Jordan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Latrisha Lewis of Okmulgee, and Victoria (Joe) Morris of Bedford, Texas; a son, Jerod Drew of Tulsa; three brothers, Earnest (Renette) Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, James (Tejuana) Johnson of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and John (Debra) Johnson of Olathe, Kansas; a sister, Mable Pope of Taft, Oklahoma; a dear sister, Rose Collins; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; along with a caravan of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
