Obituary

On November 4, 1960, a unique baby girl was born to Pearlie Mae and Fee Jefferson. They named her Geneva Yvette, affectionately known as “Bootsie.” She was the youngest of nine children.  Bootsie attended Liberty Morris and graduated from Preston High School. She was employed by State Industry, where she worked until she became ill.

To know Bootsie was to love her. She was full of laughter and humor. She freely expressed herself and always let you know what she was thinking, whether it was good or bad. Being the baby of the family, she was spoiled, and she would always let it be known that she was not a provider, but that she needed to be provided for. Bootsie loved being a grandmother and taking care of her two grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Bootsie was preceded in death by her parents; her five brothers, Richard, Leroy, Eugene, Fee Jr., and Rick Jefferson; her nephews, Ronnie and Tony; her grandson, Zion; and her son, Jason.

Bootsie leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her daughter, DiaNika Jefferson; her grandchildren, Victor and Aubrey Kemp, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sisters, Wanda Collins, Barbara Jefferson, and Ruthie Jefferson, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Ardella (Kenneth) Lang of Boynton, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Ms. Geneva "Bootsie" Jefferson, in her 65th year, surrendered her life to the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Service of Memory for Geneva will commence on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Tenth Hour in the most holy sanctuary of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, where Pastor Harold White will preside.
