Clarksville, Oklahoma, a small settlement in Wagoner County near Porter, was the place where life began for George Washington Hutton.
Born the son of Henry and Sarah [Byers] Hutton on October 5, 1934, George grew up and attended Arkansas Valley School in Wagoner County.
While still yet a young teenager, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict.
He joined Church at an early age and continued his Christian journey during his lifetime. He was a member of Evangelist Temple Baptist Church.
Mr. Hutton was very active in the Masonic Lodge. He was known across the United States for the many offices and positions held in the Masonic Body, including loyal membership in the Trinity Lodge #84 in Muskogee.
George was a loyal friend, charismatic and jovial, as well as the life of the party. He was a devoted brother to all who had the privilege to befriend him.
George Washington Hutton, in his 76th year, transitioned from Labor to Refreshment on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from Muskogee.
He leaves to lament his death: his daughters, Kelly Gaines [Edwin], Sherman, Texas and Renee Jones [Gill], Banning, California; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; along with several close nieces and nephews, dear friends, other relatives and the Masonic Lodge that he loved dearly.
The Tribute for Mr. Hutton will be on Saturday, February 26,2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Rayfield Baptist Church. Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., is the gracious host Pastor, and Reverend Richard Brooks, Pastor of Evangelist Temple Baptist Church, Officiating.
The Christian Committal will be on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson.
The Masonic Rites will be given on Friday evening, February 25, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Evangelist Temple Baptist Church. The public is welcome to attend.
You may visit Mr. Hutton, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 PM to 6 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until 6:00 P.M.
