Obituary

Mrs. Georgia L. Chatman, after 65 years, transitioned from life to everlasting on Friday morning, November 19, 2010 from a Tulsa hospital.

A baby girl was born to Clem Richardson and Rubie Robbins on May 10, 1945 in Gibson Station, Oklahoma and they named her Georgia Lee. Georgie grew up a happy child while lving there and attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and Lincoln High School in Wagoner, Oklahoma. At the tender age of eleven, she joined the Saint John Baptist Church.


After reaching adulthood, she met Bobby Lee Chatman and on June 4, 1968, they were married. Their love was blessed with two children.


Georgia worked for Swift for several years and then moved on to Prestolite Electric Motor Company. After her health began to decline, she had to retire early. Georgia was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a friendly person, who always met you with a smile. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her warm personality, concern, caring and sharing ways.


Georgia Lee Richardson Chatman, in her 65th year, surrendered to the will of the Lord on November 19, 2010 from Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.


She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Bobby Lee Chatman, of the home; two daughters, Phyllis [Terrence] Tottress, Muskogee, Oklahoma and Angela Chatman, of the home; a sister, Barbara [Harold] White, Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, James [Linda] Newton, Muskogee, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Taizja and Torri Tottress, Muskogee, Oklahoma; four special cousins that were like sisters and brothers, Willa Mae Wright, Wagoner, Oklahoma, Ann [Grover] Golden, Wagoner, Oklahoma, Hayes [Geneva] Robbins, Gibson Station, Oklahoma and Andrew Myers, Wagoner, Oklahoma; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and many friends.

The hour of tribute will be on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. John Baptist Church, Gibson Station, Oklahoma, with Reverend Walter Brown, Jr., Officiating and Reverend John Tottress, Eulogist.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Gibson Station.
