"Reflections"

On October 21, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jimmie Isom and Leona Matilda gave birth to a bouncing bundle of joy. They named their new son Glenn Anthony. He would be the third of seven children born to the union. Glenn accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Dunbar Elementary in Tulsa, as well as Carver Junior High and Marion Anderson, and eventually Booker T. Washington High School graduating with the Class of 1964. While attending Booker T. Washington, he joined his brothers Jimmie and Johnny on the wrestling team. In 1966, Mr. Isom was drafted by the United States Army. While in the service, he received several accolades and medals including: The Purple Heart, National Defense Services Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Sharpshooter, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

Returning to Tulsa in January 1968, he found employment with the City of Tulsa where he worked until he relocated to Chicago where he worked at a department store. Several years later, he moved to Dallas, Texas and attended Bishop College and received his education in Business Management. He was united in holy matrimony to Angela Williamson in 1980. To their union, they were blessed to raise 2 loving children, An'tranette Williamson and Tamarria Denga. After 30 years of dedicated service, Glenn retired from the United States Post Office.

One beautiful Friday morning, on February 5, 2010 at 9:05AM, our Heavenly Father called Glenn Isom home for an eternal life. Remaining to cherish his precious memories: his children: Rodney Isom, Tulsa, OK., Kimley Isom, Midwest City, OK., Sybil Bear, Las Vegas, NV., Kadrina Cunningham, New York, An'tranette Williamson-Isom, and Tamarria Denga (Miguel), Glendale, AZ., 5 grandchildren (and one on the way!), two brothers: Jimmie Isom (Pat) Johnny Isom, both of Tulsa, OK., one sister, Marcia Hankins (Boyce), a favored cousin, Dalores "Low" Thomas, along with a host nieces, nephews, and friends.
