Gloria Jean was the third of five children born to Luther and Anna Belle Peoples. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a member of Booker T. Washington Class of 1963. She later furthered her education in Los Angeles California.
Upon returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma she retired after 17 years of employment with the Oklahoma State Employment Service as a Senior Interviewer.
In 1986, Pastor Drew founded the, "Truth Shall Triumph Apostolic Church", and was ordained as a Minister in good standing with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. in 1998. She was dedicated, committed and loyal to the church; and, whenever you see her coming you knew her message would be the same. She never wavered.
Pastor Gloria Drew worked in many capacities within the Oklahoma State Council as well as with Grace Apostolic Temple under the late Elder W.H. Black. Serving as an Evangelist, President & Vice President of Missionary Department, Pastors Aide President, Minister of Music, Oklahoma Executive board member and Sunday School teacher. After many years of service with the Oklahoma State Council, Pastor Gloria Drew joined the Arkansas State Council where her delight in Jesus was enhanced through fellowship with the saints. With leadership and guidance from Suffragan Bishop Luke Church, Pastor Drew received a living example of holiness, annointed words of wisdom and a fellowship bound with indefinite gratitude of Gods greatness. The Truth Shall Triumph Apostolic Church is set to flourish and continue on.
She leaves to witness her home-going: one son, Morris Pratt (Bertha) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Akilah Ward of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Four sisters: Marilyn Sheppard, Dolores Finch, Judith Woodard (Fred) and Janice Shaw of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Spiritual Sons: Willie Turner of Dallas, Melvin Rhodes and Ja Mal Johnson of Tulsa. Six grandchildren: Melinda, Shayla, Da Juan, Takara, Taylor and Tyler and a host of family and friends.
Services for Pastor Drew will be Saturday May 3, 2014 at 2:30PM at World Won For Christ on 36th Street North in Tulsa.
Friends may visit her on Friday from 1PM until 7PM in Tulsa.
