On April 14, 1959, in Valdosta, Georgia, a bundle of joy was delivered to Dorothy Balloon and Alfred Cole. It was a bouncing baby boy. They named him Godfrey Lynn. Godfrey grew up in Enid, Oklahoma culminating with his graduation from Enid High School. Mr. Cole would continue his education on to Northwestern College, and Oklahoma City Community College where he earned a Bachelor of Science.
Godfrey enjoyed basketball, preaching, as well as traveling. He labored as a painter with Marler & Sons Painting, and was a 29 year member of General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Oklahoma City. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Remaining to cherish his precious memories are his sons; Preston and Amber Cole, Newcastle, OK., Ashzreal Cole, Enid, OK., daughters; Kameo cole, Oklahoma City, OK., Ariana Cole, and Jericha Cole, both of Enid, OK., his father, Alfred Cole, Dallas, TX., mother, Dorothy Cole, Oklahoma City, OK., 1 brother, Jeffrey and Becky Cole, Oklahoma City, OK., sisters, Ginger and Jason Byrd, Humble, TX., Debbie and Derwin Norwood, Enid, OK., Stephanie and Kenny Howard, Cedar Hill, TX., Kimberly Monroe, Covington, GA., and Yolanda Ude, Oklahoma City, OK., and a host of other relatives, friends, and church members.
Services for Mr. Cole will be held Saturday at 10AM at General Assemble and Church of The First Born located at 100 SE 46th in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be held at McKay-Davis Mortuary in Oklahoma City.
