92 years ago, in Homer, Georgia, the gift of a baby girl was given to John and Maggie Smith, who they agreed should have the names Gussie and Lucille, a double blessing; to have favor with God and man.
At an early age, Gussie realized the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She received her formal education in the Georgia Public Schools.
After reaching adulthood, she was given in marriage to Memphis T. Trimiar and their union was blessed with nine children. Gussie was the mother of twelve children, preceded in her homegoing by Memphis, Jr., Margaret, Mary and Frank. She was later given in marriage to David Shade, who preceded her in death also.
She leaves to celebrate her homegoing; Ida M. Byers, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reverend Samuel Trimiar, Sr., Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rebecca Southerland, Weirton, West Virginia, David T. Trimiar, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, John, Joe and Lee, North Carolina and Virginia, respectively; 25 grandchildren; at least a dozen great-grandchildren
