Harold Leon Anderson was born on July 29, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Hallard and Leontine Anderson. He was the youngest of three boys.
Harold attended Muskogee Public Schools until he enlisted in the United States Army to fight for his country. Her served honorably until his discharge, at which time, he met Grace Maxine Lucas and on October 17, 1945, a baby girl was born and they named her Betty Jean.
Later in life, Harold met the love of his life, Juanita Webb and to this union, seven girls and one boy was born, as well as his step-son he raised as his own son. Mr. Anderson provided for his family through his labor as a house mover, until his health began to fail After his health issues, he began to do odd jobs along with keeping up the maintenance and plumbing on his home church, New Zion Baptist Church.
On May 16, 2010, Harold completed his labor here on Earth, as God called him home. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, a son, his parents and a brother.
He leaves to cherish memory and carry on his legacy; his son, James [Pat] Hershey, Bellevue, Washington; six daughters, Danetta [Cedric] Brown, Brenda Buchanan, Dorothy [Johnnie] Fennell, Glenda Maxwell, Ruby Anderson and Vickie [Alfred] Reed, all of Muskogee; his brother, Leroy Anderosn, Muskogee; three sons-in-law, Milton Colbert, Maurice Maxwell and Theophilus Walker; two sisters-in-law, Peggie Desmuke and Frances Criner, both of Muskogee; along with his twenty-two grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends from through the years.
The final salute will be on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the New Zion Baptist Church. Reverend Gary Mitchum, Pastor, will preside. Burial will follow, with military honors in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson.
