Obituary

On January 3, 1939 in Dallas, Texas, a baby girl was born to Bevie and Pinkie Bailey of Dallas, Texas. They named their new bundle of joy, Helen Joyce. Helen attended elementary school in Dallas and later graduated from high school in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1957, Helen relocated to Los Angeles, California with her sister Rena Faye Robinson. Soon after, she met and a young gentleman by the name of Mr. Richard M. Green.

Helen began a long career with Hughes Aircrafts where she worked as an inspector. She later retired from Litton Aerospace after 15 years of service, and a total of 30 years in the aerospace industry. Helen was a member of West Adams Four Square Church and a present member of Crenshaw Christian Center both of Los Angeles, California where she served in the deliverance and altar worker ministry, and the intercessory prayer team. She also volunteered her time in personal prayer at the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Helen's other hobbies included traveling, crossword puzzles, going to the spa, spending time with family and friends, and talking on the phone in her spare time. Helen enjoyed giving sound and witty advice on any and every subject.

Helen Green was also a great humanitarian and philanthropist who gave to ministries and organizations such as TBN, Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley, March of Dimes, Susan B. Komen, along with several others. Helen's love and zest for life bought many to Jesus and changed many who came to know her. Due to unrelenting faith and charismatic love for Christ, she continuously carried the torch for salvation through her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to everyone she encountered.

In 1999, Helen moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to enjoy her retirement being surrounded by her beloved children and grandchildren. In 2006, she suffered a stroke, and over the past four years she fought the fight, kept the faith, and finished the race that was set before her. On December 3, 2010, she transitioned from this life into life everlasting and now stands in the great cloud of witnesses for those who remain. She leaves a legacy of faith and belief that Jesus Christ is her Healer.

Helen enjoyed sharing her life with Richard Green, and from this union came Richard Tracy Green, Sr. (Jolanta), daughters: DeAndre Lynn, Allyson Lavette, and Damian Kinia Green, nieces: Donna Robison Smith and Tonette Robertson Kemp, grandsons: DeAntaye Robinson, Richard Tracy Green, Jr., and Christopher M. Green, one granddaughter, Brittney Green. Helen also enjoyed a special gift, Drelynn Green. Helen was counted as a Matriarch to the Bailey and Epperson life lines. Helen was also cherished by her remaining siblings Bevie Bailey, Jrl, Erniestine Amos, and Beverly Curtis, and a very special cousin, Elloise Russell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Helen also enjoyed her life with her siblings that preceded her in passing: Sarah Washington, Rena Faye Robinson, Pauline Wilcox, and Charlie Mae Hampton.

Her Final Hour will be Friday December 10, 2010 at 1PM at Praise Center Family Church on Apache Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Friends may visit her as she rests on Thursday from 12Noon to 7PM.
