Mrs. Helen M. Perry, age 79 and a resident of Okmulgee, passed from life to eternity on Thursday morning, January 17, 2008 from her home in Okmulgee.
She was born in Okmulgee on March 12, 1928, the precious, loving daughter of John and Laura [Stokes] Thomas. SHe attended school in Okmulgee, culminating with graduation from Historic Dunbar High School with the Class of 1946. While at Dunbar, she was involved in Track and Field, where she set records as the 2nd fastest female in Dunbar History.
She married Kermit Perry and together, they lived in California for a number of years before returning to Okmulgee in 1980. She worked as a secretary at a retirement home and was a member of Truevine Ministries, Inc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
She leaves to lament her passing; her husband, Kermit Perry, of the home in Okmulgee; her sons, Lawrence Bernard Perry, Sr., Bristow, Oklahoa, Elder Kermit Reginald Perry, Ontario, California and Earl Ciccel, Los Angeles, California; a daughter, Joyce Marie Dansby, Midwest City, Oklahoma; a brother, Harold Turner, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; a sister, Rachel Smith, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The farewell tribute will be on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Truevine Ministries, Inc. Pastor Charles Jones, the gracious host Pastor and Elder Kermit Perry, Jr., Eulogist.
