After 78 years with us on Earth, Henry Lee Traylor has journeyed from "Labor to Refreshment" as of March 5, 2014.
On March 1, 1936, a handsome baby boy was born to Ida Mae Goodloe and Elisha Traylor in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was given the name of Henry Lee Traylor. Better known to family and friends as "T-Bone," Henry attended school in Okmulgee. After reaching manhood, he began his career in the construction industry at W. N. Couch, where he was a laborer and a foreman for over 50 years.
"T-Bone" had a great passion for the Rodeo and calf roping. He had a very deep love for his horses, which he installed in many generations of his family. In his union to Rebecca Lovett, he was blessed with 5 children. Henry was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. He remained a faithful member under Reverend Leroy Crawford until his health failed. Henry served on the Usher Board of Northwest.
"T-Bone" was a family man well known in the community. He was a very loving and caring person, who would give you the shirt off of his back. To him, no one was a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and would tell you like it was without giving it a second thought.
Mr. Traylor leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted wife, Leeanna Traylor, of the home in Okmulgee; his mother, Ida Mae Goodloe; his children, Vickie [Harris] Jefferson, Veronica [Cebun] Pettie, David [Ann] Traylor, Tracy [Robert] Taylor and Robyn Traylor; his siblings, Levelle [Gloria] Traylor, Velma Williams McGee and Dorothy [Albert] Hill, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a special son, Sam [Sharon] Broadus; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Yvonne [George] Fauntlery, Jackie Rivers, Linda [Ron] Logan; brothers-in-law, L. C. Stokely and Larry [Joyce] Morgan. He was preceded in death by his father, Elisha Traylor, his grandmother, Ozie Goodlow and a brother, Robert Traylor.
The Service of Memory for "T-Bone" will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Reverend Willie Antwine, Jr., will officiate and Reverend Leroy Crawford, Eulogist.
Burial will follow in the Northwest Cemetery. You may visit "T-Bone" on Friday from 10 AM until 6 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee.
